Firm description

My family’s business has always revolved around carpentry. My grandfather had built boats and my father had his woodshop. As a child, I would spend hours helping around their shops and eventually gained my skills. These experiences built on my passion for fine art and later blossomed into my love for architecture. At the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, my knowledge grew and my career as a designer began. After working in Los Angeles at multiple architecture firms, I decided to settle in San Diego. There I began my teaching career at the NewSchool of Architecture and Design, which lasted 19 years. I guided students through their journey with architecture by teaching various classes including model making, design-build, and furniture design. Students had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious CalPoly SLO Design Village competition, where they took home top awards each year.
In 2000, I started Studio Munaim. Our goal is to complete every stage of the design process seamlessly and provide our clients with impeccable service. We emphasize working as a team with our clients to ensure their vision is maintained through every aspect of the project. Projects are executed with attention to aesthetic details, budget maintaining, and the highest standards of design.
